Resumen

El objetivo de este artículo es realizar un diagnóstico de necesidades insatisfechas de una comunidad aledaña a una terminal portuaria de Barranquilla en el marco de su estrategia de responsabilidad social empresarial. Se definió un estudio cuantitativo de tipo analítico, descriptivo no experimental, transeccional y de campo. Se diseñó un instrumento, y se aplicó a una muestra de 290 unidades habitacionales. Dicho cuestionario presenta 17 ítems para la variable necesidades insatisfechas, y un ítem para responsabilidad social. Así, se evidenció que la comunidad aledaña a la terminal portuaria, cuya actividad principal es el comercio y los servicios de gastronomía, considera urgente aumentar las oportunidades de empleo y la seguridad, e identifican las siguientes necesidades altas, en su orden: seguridad pública, atención médica, drogadicción y desempleo. Asimismo, proponen campañas educativas y de seguridad alimentaria, y la comunidad se sugiere su desacuerdo en cuanto a la imagen de acciones de responsabilidad social que implementa la terminal portuaria. Se concluye que existe la necesidad de intervención de la Terminal Portuaria en acciones encaminadas a fomentar las oportunidades de empleo, mitigar la inseguridad y desarrollar programas tendientes a la mejora de la salud y el bienestar de la comunidad, lo cual permita mejorar la reputación de la terminal frente a la comunidad. This article aimed to make a diagnosis of unmet needs of a community adjacent to a port terminal in Barranquilla within the framework of its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. It was defined as a quantitative study of analytical, descriptive non-experimental, transectional and field type. One instrument was designed, and applied to a sample of 290 housing units. This questionnaire had 17 items for the unsatisfied needs variable and one item for social responsibility. Thus, it is evident that the community bordering the port terminal whose main activity is the commerce and gastronomy services considers as urgent to increase employment opportunities and security, identified as high needs in its order: public safety, medical care, drug addiction and unemployment, propose educational campaigns and food security, the community disagrees with the image of social responsibility actions implemented by the port terminal. It is concluded that the need for Port Terminal intervention in actions to promote employment opportunities, mitigate insecurity and develop programs aimed at improving the health and well-being of the community to improve the reputation of the terminal to the community.
