Resumen

Introduction: Resilience is a development process of a person´s existing internal and external resources to offset risk factors. Objective The aim of this study is to analyze the concept of resilience so it can be applied to the context of Mexican/Latin-American adolescent sexual behavior. Methodology We used the concept analysis method proposed by Walker and Avant. Results We identified the attributes, antecedents, consequences, and empirical referents of the concept. Conclusion Our results indicate that the concept analysis of resilience in the context of adolescent sexual behavior allows the health professional to establish a basis for Building sexual resilience in this age group, in addition to providing elements for developing a new operational definition of the concept.
